The Bridge School Felixstowe Campus (BFX) opened in September 2024 due to the growing needs in the county for more SEND places.

BFX caters for pupils from Year 9 upwards who transition from our Ipswich site. During Year 8, the pupils are offered a robust transition involving visits and opportunities to attend to BFX site.

From September 2025, we will be offering a small sixth form provision which we aim to develop and grow over the next few years – look out for our curriculum offer for Years 12 and 13 coming soon.

Due to the small size of the proposed sixth form provision, we will be maintaining our robust post-16 transition programmes with visits to other providers. It is expected that those pupils who are able to access the local colleges and provisions should be encouraged to do so.

This year has been really successful in our new building. The pupils have really settled and made the environment a mature learning space, accessing the facilities including the purpose built cooking room, art room, PE Hall and library. The outdoor spaces have been utilised well and the pupils are really excited about the imminent delivery of outdoor equipment. Transport drop off and collection (often a real challenge) has been smooth, successful and, dare I say, time efficient!

We have welcomed parents, visitors from Unity Schools Partnership and the local authority into the school and have developed some lovely links with the local community, including a local café, the leisure centre and ReCreate in the town centre.
