At The Bridge School we ensure that our careers education curriculum not only meets the statutory requirements outlined in the Gatsby Benchmarks but provides children with a rich, creative careers education which equips them for the future.
It is our intention to provide children with a wide range of encounters with different employers. This may involve trips to different workplaces or meeting visiting speakers. Older children may also participate in work experience sessions, both at school and with external employers. We are always keen to build new links, and we are always happy to hear from local employers who would be willing to work along side us.
We recognise that the world of work is not simply about paid jobs, and our careers education includes learning about voluntary work, supported employment, further education and the different kinds of post 16 provisions in the local area.
In Key Stage 4, children have the opportunity to visit local colleges. This allows children to develop their understanding of the next stage of their education, and in some cases get to know their new teachers.
Please read about our careers provision here.
